JDHS Class of 1977
60th Birthday Party
Mark your calendars for the JDHS Class of '77
You may recall that we had a great turnout on our 50th Birthday weekend in the Poconos. As a result, we are going to do it again for our 60th Birthday, this time in Lewes, DE. (We are also taking suggestions for where to hold our 70th Birthday weekend - but we have some time to figure that out)!
60th Birthday Weekend in Lewes, Delaware!
The Class of '77 has a reputation to uphold as the most active Dickinson class. Let's keep up the good work and keep in touch with old friends by participating in this weekend-long event.
An event page and RSVP link are available in the list to the left.
Here's what is in the works:
-- Mark the Date!
Friday, October 11 through Saturday, October 13, 2019
-- Overnight Accomodations:
Two potential locations, we may secure both - depending on demand:
Rodney Hotel. www.hotelrodneydelaware.com
Dogfish Inn. www dogfish.com/inn
There is a two night minimum at both hotels. Cost for either one will be approximately $400.
Morning Golf. Tentatively set for The Rookery. Approximately $65per person. (Will need more than 20 golfers for this reservation, so sign up early.)
Evening Music and Drinks. Jerry's Seafood from 7 pm to 10 pm. Heather Vidal (Douthit) will be playing. There are food options there, or you can eat on your own before going there.
Morning: George Limpert is willing to lead an easy flat slow 20 bike ride historial tour of Rehoboth Beach and Cape Henlopen and their roles in WWII defense, using rental bikes from Rehoboth.
Afternoon. We are investigating options for one or more of the following: a boat tour, a walking tour of historic Lewes, naps, or a tour of Dogfish Head Brewery (followed by a nap).
Evening. In negotiations with a farm to table restaurant. Estimated costs of $45/person, including a drink.
After Hours. Party back at one of the hotels.
Breakfast. Researching options for a bunch.
We hope you join us as we spend
a weekend reminiscing with
old friends and toasting our
collective 60th birthdays!
John Dickinson High School
Class of 1977, President for Life
Who else but the class of 77 would turn a one night event into a three day weekend? Thank you to Mr. Lee for the Dickinson tour, Terry Reed for the Skyline tour, Billy Caldwell and Gary Allegretto for pulling together the Pre-party on Friday, Dave Kelly for the golf outing,
the Four Points Sheraton for putting up with our nonsense,
and the folks that pulled together the brunch at Deerpark.
Thank you to Tony Goland for sponsoring the Photo Booth
so we have all these uninhibited photos of us!
Many thanks to the folks that donated tickets or money to
help other classmates attend. We had a turnout of over 150 and
other classes can't imagine how we pull it off!
There are photos posted under the "View-Post Photos"
in the album for the 40th Reunion.
Also, if you had fun at the 40th, but didn't get to visit with everyone,
another gathering is in the works.
In 2019 we will be turning 60!
If you would like to turn a corner into a new decade
with people who turned the corner into adulthood with you,
start planning on a (possible) fall gathering in 2019 to celebrate!
All the reunion information and links are below, including some very fun promotional videos.
But we have a BIG announcement!
PRE-PARTY ! !
The Friday night before the reunion, we will be kicking off the weekend with a night of music and mayhem.

& SEAFOOD RESTAURANT.
Game Changers is owned by our very own classmate,
That's right, I called him "Billy". He will always be "Billy" to us.
NO COVER CHARGE! SPREAD THE WORD!
Bring your family and friends for a great night out.

The lot has been reserved for our event !
To order tickets: click HERE
The Main Event is at Clayton Hall on the UD North campus from
6:30 pm - 11:00 pm
In addition to purchasing tickets, you are given the opportunity to donate to a pool of money that can be used to help out a classmate that may be deciding not to attend due to costs (i.e. plane tickets, babysitters, etc) but who otherwise would like to come.
There is a block of rooms at the Four Points Sheraton on 273 and Old Baltimore Pike.
There are only 5 rooms left of the block, so we strongly suggest that if you are in-town or out-of-town, you call them and book your room now. UPDATE: The block has sold out. If you booked a room and for whatever reason are not going to use that room, please call the hotel and un-book it now. Other classmates have been trying to get into the block, but no more rooms are available. So please, if you are not going to use your room, unbook it so someone else can get in at this great rate! The rooms run $129 for the night of the event. The Sheraton will be running a shuttle FROM the hotel to Clayton Hall and back again at the end of the night. (Seats are limited, so you may want to UBER or LYFT on your own.) If you are internet savvy, you can check out the hotel here.
But to get the block rate for the reunion,
you will have to call and talk to a human:
you can call 302-266-6600
Ask for the block reservation for JDHS High School reunion.
Just a note: It is NASCAR weekend in DOVER and hotel rooms sell out or rates go up as far north as the PA line. So, if you haven't booked your room it is recommended you call the FOUR POINTS SHERATON.
So if you are wanting to join in the "after-party", we will be at the Four Points Sheraton, lobby bar closes at 1:00 am. Lobby lounge closes when we say it closes! BAM!
